Updates, crops, and hosts that ask for FTP
T-Builder 0.9.25 updates plugins from the chat, crops and resizes pictures in place, and installs on hosts where WordPress used to ask for FTP credentials.
Three small things from this week's chats, shipped the same day.
"Update all the plugins"
The agent could install a plugin and see which ones had an update, but not run one. Now it does: every plugin WordPress.org offers a newer version for, one after the other, each kept active, with a line per plugin saying which version it went from and to. A plugin that fails is named and the others go on; a premium plugin that updates through its own licence is reported as such. Every update is in the project's activity.
A photo that does not match the others
A team slider with square headshots and one full-length portrait in it: the agent used to explain the problem and ask for a cropped file. Now it crops the picture itself, keeping the face in the frame, resizes or rotates when that is what is needed, and puts the result under the same attachment so every page shows it at once. A new picture instead of a replacement is one word away.
Hosts that asked for FTP
On some hosts an install or an update failed without a reason: WordPress asked for FTP credentials because the files belong to another user than PHP runs as, even though the folder is writable. T-Builder now writes directly in that case, the way FS_METHOD in wp-config would. A host where nothing can be written gets a clear sentence about what to change instead of a silent failure.
Every site on the account updates itself to 0.9.25. The full list is under Releases.
