Keyword data for every project
Search volumes, difficulty, competitors, rankings and backlinks now reach every project, with or without a Semrush or Ahrefs key of your own, paid per request through your usage.
Ask the agent "which terms should the dental page target" and until today the honest answer, unless you had pasted a Semrush or Ahrefs key into the project, was "I have no figures". A Semrush key needs their Business plan. Most agencies do not have one, and their clients certainly do not.
What changes
The platform now has its own keyword data source. Every project that has no key of its own gets the same four questions answered from it:
- Volumes. Monthly searches, difficulty, cost per click and intent for the terms you name, plus related terms and the questions people type, in the country of the project.
- A domain's standing. Organic keywords, estimated traffic, how many terms sit in the top three and the top ten, the top keywords with their positions and pages.
- Competitors. Who ranks for the same terms, how many terms you share, how big they are. Or, for one term, who is on page one today.
- Backlinks. Totals, referring domains and the strongest of them, with first and last seen.
A project with its own Semrush or Ahrefs key keeps using that, as before; its units come off your plan and nothing is metered.
What it costs
Each request is paid to the data provider by the platform and booked to your account like a model call: the provider's price, which is cents per question, plus the account's usage terms. It shows on the credit page as a line per request, and the agent's answer says when the figures came from the platform's source.
Where it shows up
Nothing to set up. The SEO tab of a project still offers Semrush and Ahrefs for agencies that have them. For everyone else the agent simply answers, and the SEO audit, Search Console and the keyword data together are what a keyword map, a content plan or a competitor review are made of.
